May 26 2026 The Stonewood CEOS met at the Congregational Missionary Church Fellowship Hall. The meeting called to order by president Ladonna Tucker; other members present were Estella Farnsworth, Willa Jean Green, April Stout, Terri Jo Boyer, Barbara Graham, Eva Summers, and Lesita Snider.
A candle was lit in memory of our deceased members, Devotions read by Ladonna entitled Love is a 2 letter word by Joanne James. The American and WV flags salutes were recited .Minutes of last meeting were read and accepted. Treasurers report given by Estella in the absence of treasurer Pam Cowdrey; report filed. We received a thank you card from the Mustard Seed that was shared by the secretary. Ladonna taught the lesson on How to make culinary extracts at home; her niece did a video chat with the club showing a step by step demonstration of how to make Vanilla extract. A big thank you to her for the video.
Committee reports : Eva reminded members to read and give book reports and of the deadlines for submitting short stories, photos and poems, she also encouraged members to participate in Show and Tell. Family committee report; (nurse) April Stout will be checking blood pressures at our meetings for any members that wish to have them done’ also, we will be collecting totes and suit cases for Genesis home so that kids will have something to put their belongings in when they go home. Membership and marketing; We will make and donate a Steeler throw to the Stonewood Fire Department to be raffled off at the Festival in August; We will also work the welcome table again this year. We will also have information about what CEOS clubs do for those who may be interested in joining. We will also collect signatures to make the WV Flag salute a law. Co-Health motivator
Terri Jo Boyers led the members in a leg exercise. Show and Tell…Terri brought placemats that she made and the beautiful king size quilt that she made and entered in the Cultural Arts show. She won Honorable mention for the County and People’s choice award. We are so very proud of her and all of her hard work. Congratulations Terri. Also for show and tell, Ladonna brought a beautiful plaque and pin that was awarded to her by the Grand Commandery, a beautiful gesture in honor of her late husband.
Miscellaneous…we will donate a fruit pie to the West Milford festival. April Stout gave a book report on the book Sins of the Mother; it really sounds like a good read. On May 2nd, Ladonna Tucker, Deloris Wilson, Estella Farnsworth, Lesita Snider, April Stout, Terri Jo Boyers, and Eva Summers attended the Area Meeting in Fairmont. It was a very enjoyable day mingling with other club members; the luncheon was amazing, it was just a great day of fellowship with other clubs. Today we collected 35 packages of pasta for the Mustard Seed; next month we will collect Hamburger Helper. We will also be making bibs to donate to local nursing homes in addition to the lap quilts. Meeting was adjourned. Our next meeting will be on June 15 2026. We hope everyone is enjoying the summer weather. CVH this month 760 books read 40.
