On April 20 2026 the Stonewood CEOS met at the Congregational Missionary Church Fellowship hall. The meeting was called to order by President Ladonna Tucker. Also present today were VP Deloris Wilson, Secretary Estella Farnsworth, Treasurer Pam Cowdrey, April Stout, Terri Jo Boyers, Eva Summers, Lesita Snider, and Sherry Blue.
April read devotions entitled “A Blessed Opportunity to Personalize Your Sharing”. April also led the members in the salutes to the American and WV flags. Minutes of last meeting read by Estella Farnsworth and accepted as read. Treasurer report given by Pam Cowdrey and filed for audit. April Stout had the lesson entitled “How to Make Infused Oils” which can be a variety of flavors and used in various recipes.
Our club sent a birthday card to Ms Olive Kerns of Mon County for her 100th birthday. Congratulations to her for for this amazing milestone, we hope you enjoy your special day.
On March 9, Ladonna, Deloris, Pam, Terri, April, Estella, and Lesita attended the County Council meeting at the 4H complex. New Business.We have been discussing ideas on how to recruit new members; with the assistance of our president a committee including Pam Cowdrey, Terri Jo Boyers, April Stout and Estella Farnsworth was formed for that purpose.
Terri Jo Boyers; co-health motivator discussed healthy aging tips such as proper diet, exercise and socialization. Make sure to check on aging family members often to see if they need help with getting groceries or getting to doctor appointments. She also led the members in an exercise to strengthen our legs, arms and torso. Our club its busy collecting items to be delivered to the VA Hospital next month; also making lap quilts to be donated later this year.
We collected 111 cracker snack packs today to be donated to the Mustard Seed. Next month’s collection will be pasta. They always appreciate the donations and we are happy to donate. For show and share today Ladonna shared how she found out that she was having another great granddaughter with a special gender reveal; congratulations to the family!
Deloris shared her 1955 Victory High School yearbook, and Estella shared a jacket worn by her son when he danced in a talent show at Norwood School when he was in 2nd grade 43 years ago. Reminders; May 2 Area meeting in Fairmont; we will meet at CMC at 8:30 am to carpool; May 11 County Council meeting and Cultural Arts show and our next monthly meeting will be on May 18; please bring VA donations from list in the current newsletter.
