On June 16 2025 the Stonewood CEOS met at the Congregational Missionary Church fellowship hall.

The meeting was called to order by President Ladonna Tucker and candle lit in memory of our deceased members. Deloris read devotions entitled What Is a Dad in honor of Father’s Day. Present today were; Ladonna Tucker,Deloris Wilson, Estella Farnsworth, Willa Jean Green, Lesita Snider, Eva Summers, Sherry Blue, and Terri Jo Boyers.

Willa Jean lead the members in singing This Little Light of Mine and God Bless America.

Minutes were read; one correction was made; Treasurer’s report given and accepted for filing.

Deloris gave the very interesting lesson entitled Backstitch, History of Needles, Bobbins, and Stitches. It is very interesting seeing the evolution of types of needles and bobbins and seeing the variety of stitches made.

Committee reports: Continuing education: Eva reminded members to bring heritage and items for show and share. Today Ladonna brought a beautiful hand blown purple glass pumpkin from Blenko Glass located in Milton WV.

Membership and marketing: Ladonna reported that we are in finishing stages of making a WV stadium throw to donate to the Stonewood Fire Department to raffle off during the Festival in August. Our club will work the welcome table at the festival this year. Also was discussed having a mentor for new members.

Health motivator Willa Jean Green led members in hand, knee, and prancing exercises. She also informed us that Soy is one of the top 9 allergens identified by the FDA; so use it carefully.

Unfinished business: reminders that Photo contest entries due in by 6/27; County Council meeting and family picnic is on July 7 at 4H complex, be sure to bring cleaning supplies for donations.

Heritage brought today by Deloris Wilson which was a lovely book of stories, poems and readings that she gave to her Dad for Father’s Day in 1973.

We collected 40 jars of peanut butter today for donation to the Mustard Seed. We received a beautiful thank you card from them this month in appreciation for our donations. Next month’s donation will be jelly.

Remember to bring a Blue book to next month’s meeting to fill in page 16 information.

Meeting adjourned. Next meeting will be July 21 2025.

CVH this month 741; books read 24.

Remember to stay out of the heat as much as possible and stay hydrated.
