The ACT 2 Theatre Company of Clarksburg is partnering with M.T. Pockets Theatre of Morgantown to bring to the stage Michele Lowe’s String of Pearls.
The play follows a particular string of pearls that is “stolen, bought, bestowed, unstrung and nearly lost” as it changes hands from one woman to another over a period of 35 years. It’s a touching story of love, loss, and desire involving mothers and daughters, sisters, friends, and more.
Seven actresses have been cast by director Vickie Trickett to play 27 characters in this unusual piece. They include Donnelle Bohnke, Phyl Charnes, Kaici Lore, Schyler Marcelle Layman-Pudsell, Mara Monaghan, Gretchen Ross, and Seret Teresa, all seasoned performers.
Both ACT 2 and M.T. Pockets are 501(c)3 non-profit community theatres staffed and managed by volunteers.
The play will be performed March 23, 24, 25 at 7:30 pm and March 26 at 2:00 pm at the McCrory Marketplace, 318 Main Street in downtown Clarksburg. Seats are $10 at the door.
