This week’s edition of Tee It Up took us to one of the top venues in West Virginia, the Palmer course at Stonewall Resort, located in Roanoke just outside of Weston. Designed by the king himself. Arnold seemed to put his heart and soul into this premier 18 hole par 72 public golf course that plays over 7,100 yards from the tips.
This gym opened in 2002, but elevated to an even higher level when Mike Rogers assumed the position of director of golf. Rogers leads an exceptional staff that is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They’re eager to help in any way possible, and while others go the extra mile, Rogers and his crew lap the competition when it comes to effort and detail.
Striving for perfection is the name of the game here as every time you turn around, another major improvement takes place.
Previously, it was the bunkers, which have been enhanced and stack up with any that you will find. The most recent renovation has been the paving of the cart paths.
The layout is contained. The layout is contagious, making golfers want to come back for another round as soon as their current one is completed. And when you look back on the entire day, it resembles a fairy tale.
Everything from start to finish is perfect. The award winning pro shop possesses all that you need for a great day on the links, the practice area includes a driving range, chipping and pitching areas, and a putting green.
