The Tiger tennis squad continued their road trip through the end of March. Over a six-day stretch Salem hit five schools in three different states to wrap things up on the road before heading back to campus.

Salem got things underway against Emory & Henry College in Emory, VA. The Tigers were able to grab one of the doubles matches thanks to the pairing of Elias Hort and Simon Braeuning. On to the singles portion of play, Salem continued their winning ways. Pablo Noya, Pablo Guillen, Cristobal Munoz, and Daniel Paipa to round out a 5-2 Tiger victory.

The next stop on the road trip was Radford, VA, home of the Highlanders of Radford University. Salem came up empty-handed in this one, going 0-4 on the afternoon.

The Tigers got some momentum back in their following match against Bluefield State. The Tigers took two doubles sets with the pairings of Hort and Brauening delivering another win along with Noya and Paipa delivering to give Salem the advantage. The Tigers took two more in singles play with wins from Paipa and Skander Mezouar to end the day with a 3-4 loss.

Salem headed out to North Carolina for their final two matches of the week with the first coming against Johnson C. Smith University. Once again the duo of Paipa and Noya delivered in doubles play for the Tiger’s first win of the afternoon. After that Salem grabbed their second win of the day thanks to Munoz and Tomas Acuna. Moving on to solo play Salem was able to take three matches thanks to Brauening, Elias Hort, and Daniel James Dodd to cap off a 4-3 Tiger win.

Salem rounded the week out with a trip to Raleigh, NC for a day of play against Shaw University. The Tigers dropped both doubles matches before Salem was able to claim two doubles wins at the hands of Guillen and Brauening to cap off a 3-4 loss for the Tigers.
