Tomma Kay “Sissy” Wright, 57, of Shinnston, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024, at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. She was born in Fairmont, April 22, 1966, a daughter of the late Burl Earl and Ruby Dale Linn Cottrill. On April 15, 1995, she married Timothy Lane Wright who survives.

Also surviving are two children, Justin Lane Wright and his wife Ashley, Shinnston, Amy Renae Stevens and her husband James, Mannington; six grandchildren: Kailynn, Kamrynn, Bricynn, Kathrynn, Aubree, and Corbin; her siblings: Debbie Wright and her husband Mike, Meadowbrook, Connie Wiles and her husband Carl, Shinnston, Karen Pumphrey and her husband Paul, Owings, Edward Linn, Bridgeport; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Sissy was preceded in death by one brother, Timmy Cottrill.

Sissy was a friend to everyone and was always concerned for other people more than herself. She loved baking with her grandchildren and cooking for her family. She was a wonderful mother and a “Nanny” to every child. Sissy enjoyed camping and going to the beach. The family would like to thank the staff of the Cancer and CCU Units at United Hospital Center and WVU Home Health for their care during this difficult time.

The family will receive friends at the Perine Funeral home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 3-8pm, Thursday where funeral services will be held at 11am, Friday, with Pastor Aaron Thomas officiating. Interment will be in the Lumberport Lions Club Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.perinefunerals.com. The Perine Funeral Home is honored to serve the Wright family.
