Bridgeport, WV—National Hospital Week, May 12-18, is right around the corner, and it

is an opportunity to highlight the health care workers at WVU Medicine United Hospital

Center (UHC). Day in and day out, you count on UHC employees to support the health

of our region through unwavering dedication and compassionate care.

“This week reminds us to take a moment to thank some local heroes,” said David F.

Hess, M.D., CEO and president of UHC. “I have the honor of working every day with

these skilled, dedicated professionals. I invite you to recognize their remarkable

achievements and show your appreciate for the work they do.”

This annual celebration provides the perfect time to appreciate the people who provide

lifesaving care to so many West Virginians 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.

“Hospital Week is about all staff,” said Kendra Westfall, vice president of Human

Resources at UHC. “Every employee is important and helps to make sure UHC runs

smoothly and successfully.”

National Hospital Week presents the opportunity to have a little fun. UHC Human

Resources department hopes that UHC employees celebrate the spirit of the South

Pacific and discover a tropical adventure.

The Hawaiian theme will be apparent throughout the hospital as leis will be distributed

to start the festivities. A luau party and feast fits perfectly in the middle of the week. A

special gift will be provided to all current employees.

For information on ways to give back or show your gratitude for a specific provider or

employee, please contact UHC Development at 681-342-1455 or visit

www.givetouhc.org.
