Valerie Nicole (Douglas) Clausson

Valerie Nicole (Douglas) Clausson, 42, of Clarksburg, passed away at United Hospital Center on September 9, 2024.  She was born on October 7, 1981 in Fairmont to Pamela Marlene (Loar) Douglas of Clarksburg and the late Raymon Kent Douglas.

Valerie was an optician and worked in West Virginia and Alaska.  She enjoyed video games, anime, reading about history, ghost hunting, Fox news, Japanese culture and loved her fur babies and animals.

She is also survived by her husband of 15 years, David James Clausson of Clarksburg; two step daughters:  Kelly Clausson and her husband Nate Trippaers and their son Matthew of Beaver County, PA and Nichole Clausson and her children, Colden and Eva of Pittsburgh; two half-brothers:  Matthew Douglas and Mark Douglas both of OH; two aunts, Mary Loar of Haywood and Irene Loar of Lumberport; three cousins:  Doug Loar and wife Michelle of Haywood, Erin Shreves and husband Steve of Lumberport and Jeff Loar and wife Robin of Folsom; and her beloved fur babies:  “Denali” and “Harley”; her fur baby brothers:  “Maverick” and “Merlin” as well as many other family members.

In addition to her father, Valerie is preceded in death by two uncles: Warren “Doug” Loar and Charles Edward Loar and one cousin, Kristi Loar Faulkner.

Family and friends will be received at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike St., Shinnston, on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 3:00pm until time of service 7:00pm with Pastor Michael Burge officiating. Interment on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 11:00am at West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton.

Dorsey Funeral Home is honored to be handling the arrangements for the Clausson family
