Virginia Sue “Susie” Briggs

Virginia Sue “Susie” Briggs, 74, of Lumberport, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at her residence. She was born in Clarksburg, December 7, 1949, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Lois Gallaher Keener. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerald “Jerry” Briggs; one son, Johnny Ray Briggs; her brother, Tom Gallaher; aunt, Betty Bennett; a nephew, Jeff Gallaher; her adopted grandparents, Archie and Agnes Gallaher; and her cousin, Naomi Bartlett.

Surviving are her brother, Archie “Sandy” Gallaher and his wife Paula, of Ohio; her half-sister, Mary Frances, half-brother, Mike Keener; nephews and nieces: Hunter McGary, Jessica Gallaher, J.C. Westfall, Lance Gallaher, Carrie Gallager, Brian Gallaher, Kara Gallaher, Erica Gallaher, and Bobbi Jo Cole; her cousins, Diane Martin and Dottie Jones, and her church friends, Valerie Ellis and Regina Payne.

Susie was a devoted wife, mother, and sister. She enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys with her brothers. She loved her family and friends and was a member of the Lumberport Baptist Church.

A private interment was held at the WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown and in keeping with her wishes, no public services will be held. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.perinefunerals.com. The Perine Funeral Home is honored to serve the Briggs family.
