(CHARLESTON, WV) – West Virginians for Affordable Health Care (WVAHC) is pleased to announce that it is the recipient of aCareQuest Institute for Oral Health grant to advance quality, affordable healthcare in West Virginia.
“This is great news for WVAHC and West Virginia,” says Ellen Allen, executive director of West Virginians for Affordable Health Care. “This grant allows us to continue engaging West Virginians regarding their personal healthcare choices, while working with policy makers to preserve and protect Medicaid.”
CareQuest Institute for Oral Health is a national nonprofit championing a more equitable future where every person can reach their full potential through excellent health. It partners with thought leaders, health care providers, patients, and stakeholders at all levels to change oral health care through five areas of activation: philanthropy, analytics and data insights, education, policy and advocacy, and health transformation.
The scope of this project includes preserving and protecting oral health coverage advancements in Medicaid and CHIP, advancing policy initiatives that consider the social determinants of health, shoring up full funding for Medicaid for all vulnerable West Virginians, and engaging West Virginians in advocating for improvements in the State’s healthcare system.
