Wilma Jean Starkey

Wilma Jean Starkey, 90, of Bridgeport, WV passed away peacefully at 02:10 on January 16, 2026 at Autum Lake Healthcare Center in Vineland, New Jersey with her family by her side, after battling an extended illness. She was born in Clarksburg on September 27, 1935, a daughter of the late Clarence Earl Sturm and Gladys Helois Sturm. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald L Starkey; her siblings; brother, James Sturm (Libby), sisters, Alice Spagnuolo; her grandchildren; Ammion Starkey and Brian Hustead.
Wilma is survived by her five children; Dennis Starkey (Jifan), Cheryl Hustead (Jerry), Susan Marra and partner Tim Bennett, Rhonda Hamilton (Jim), Denise Bart (John). She is also survived by her grandchildren; Melissa Hustead, Jamie Mancini (Josh), Leslie Marra, Frankie Marra, Benjamin Thomas (Kendra), Nicholas Thomas (Emily), Amie Thompson (Nelson), Justin Hayes (Sabrina) and great grandchildren; Julia and Austin Schmick, Rylee, Alivia and Macie Hustead, Emma and Eli Hardesty, Izabella Rayne Marra and Harlow Key Ellis, Bryce Riggs, Arianna and Isabella Thompson, Shyanne, Heidi, and Heath Thomas, Alayna Farris, Emmett and Finnick Thomas; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Wilma was employed by the Nutter Fort Foodland in the deli department, Westinghouse and Bices Greenhouse. She also attended Jewel City Church. In her spare time, Wilma enjoyed going to church, traveling, shopping, going to restaurants, spending time with her beloved friends and family, and her two cats; Ieisha and Maggie.
A private funeral for family will take place at Harmer Funeral Home on January 23, 2026 at 11:00 with private inurnment to follow at Shinnston Memorial Cemetery and Mausoleum.
