The West Virginia Good Sams Camping Organization will be holding their Spring Camping Rally= big camp out, May 19-21 at the Butcher Bend 4-H Fairgrounds in Mineral Wells, WV. Over 100 campers and over 400 people will attend this event.
All are welcome—tents, pop-ups and all types of RVs. At this camping rally the WV Good Sams camp out will celebrate their 40th birthday and the theme for this event will be “Lets go to the Hop” with many themed events. Campers will decorate the campground with lights and decorations. There will be an RV decorating contest; costume contest; bean bag baseball tournament; corn hole tournament and more.
There will be entertainment Friday and Saturday night, but, if you want to hear them live on stage, you need to send in your camping rally application today.
Each WVGS Chapter will have fundraisers throughout the weekend to support their chapter charities. There will also be entertainment, seminars, vendors, games, raffles, door prizes, ice cream social, ladder golf, corn hole and bean bag baseball, and guessing games as well. There will be a Chinese Auction on Saturday with the proceeds going to the Special Olympics. There will also be a pancake breakfast on Saturday morning and coffee and doughnuts on Friday and Sunday morning. There will also be skits from each chapter around the “Let’s Go To The Hop Theme”-poodle skirts and saddle oxfords!
A big hit each Samboree is the evening campfire with popcorn made over the fire with singing and entertainment. Each WVGS Chapter has duties during the event to help the weekend run smoothly. Most WVGS Chapters also have variety fundraisers during the weekend for charities they support.
WVGS is part of the largest camping organization in the world, the Good Sam Club. Each spring and fall the WVGS gather together for a camping rally – big camp out for fun and fellowship and to promote the quality camping lifestyle. All are welcome… tents, pop ups and all types of RVs. Volunteer staff and WVGS Chapters work year round to provide a well organized event for the RVers. Chapters camp monthly. Look for their signs and banners at campgrounds and join in the fun.

There are several WVGS state chapters. During the camping season, Chapters meet for monthly campouts of fun and fellowship at a different campground each month. During the winter months many meet for a variety of fun activities. All chapters are activity involved in volunteer activities in their community.
