Richard Duane Wolfe, 76, of Enterprise, passed away on March 9, 2024 at River Oaks Healthcare Center in Clarksburg. He was born in Akron, OH on March 11, 1947 to the late Walter Wolfe and Evelyn (Brown) Wolfe.
Richard proudly served in the United States Navy. He worked as a coal miner for 22 years for CONSOL at Robinson Run. He was a member of the American Legion in Shinnston, attended Enterprise United Methodist Church, coached Little League baseball and Jerry West Basketball and he enjoyed hunting and playing golf with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda (Tichenor) Wolfe; two sons: Todd Wolfe and wife Heather of Clarksburg and Mike Wolfe and wife Melody of Lumberport; three grandsons: Lleyton, Will and Duke; three granddaughters: Langston, Delaney and Lorelai; one sister: Carol Siers of Tulsa, OK; two brothers in law, Bill Tichenor of Shinnston and Fred Elbon of Elkins as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Medlock; one brother, Hubert “Bud” Black; three sisters in law: Sheila Tichenor, Joyce Tichenor and Joyce Elbon ; two brothers in law: Richard Siers and Rusty Tichenor; three nephews: Kenny Jackson, Rusty Tichenor, Jr. and Brian Black.
Family and friends will be received at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike St., Shinnston, on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 from 2:00pm to 8:00pm for visitation. Funeral service will be Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 11:00am with Pastor Brian Plum officiating. Interment to Enterprise IOOF Cemetery with military honors provided by United States Navy and Harrison County Honor Guard.
