It’s that time once again to acknowledge the efforts of Harrison County’s student-athletes. Each week we review the performances of the athletes from the six schools (Bridgeport, Liberty, Lincoln, Notre Dame, Robert C. Byrd, and South Harrison) in our county. The Shinnston News & Harrison County Journal’s Athlete of the Week award is an avenue to promote the youth of our county while bringing attention to their athletic accomplishments.
The Harrison County athletes in the spotlight this week are Lincoln’s Alex Greene and Bridgeport’s Cole Arnett.
Cougar Alex Greene finished off a fantastic year, going one for three in a state tournament setback to Frankfort. The hit was a triple and it was the perfect way to end the year.
Indian designated hitter Cole Arnett was one of the two multi-hit performers in the Tribe’s state tournament win over East Fairmont. Arnett was two for two with a double in the win over the Bees,
