Lincoln High School softball team senior Delaney Haller pitches at one of the team’s first games of the season last week. Haller, one of this week’s Athletes of the Week, pitched three perfect games last week. This week, they have several games conveniently located at home for local supporters.

Last week’s winners of the Shinnston News & Harrison County Journal’s Athletes of the Week award are Lincoln’s Delaney Haller and Bridgeport’s Lucas Anderson.

Cougar stand-out softball player, Delaney Haller, had a day to remember March 23 in Elkins. Haller led Lincoln to a pair of wins over the Tigers with not one but two perfect games in the circle. Haller also recorded 15 strike-outs in the double-header.

Haller also helped her own cause at the plate with a home run in each contest. She finished with four hits in the victories over Elkins.

Bridgeport’s track star, Lucas Anderson helped his squad to a second place finish in the Connect-Bridgeport Invitational at Wayne Jamison Field on Saturday. Anderson won the 100 meter dash, the 200 meter dash, and the 400 meter dash.

Congratulations to Lincoln’s Delaney Haller and Bridgeport’s Lucas Anderson for being named the Shinnston News & Harrison County Journal’s Athletes of the Week!
