Donald Lee McIntire Sr.

Donald Lee McIntire Sr., 82, of Enterprise, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017, at his residence.
He was born on January 27, 1934, to the late Argyle Dayton McIntire and Nelle Dale Daughterty.
He is survived by his wife, Marian E Kelley McIntire; three sons, Paul D. and wife Sharon McIntire, Enterprise, Curtis M. and wife Kim McIntire of Enterprise, and Jeffrey D. and wife Katy McIntire of Maryville TN; one daughter, Nina Burns and husband Mark of Shinnston; daughter-in-law, Rerberta McIntire of Shinnston; nine granddaughters, Amber Dawn and husband Dale Jeffers, April Jean McIntire, Alicia Renee and husband Cade Cassell, Rachel Marie McIntire, Ashley Marie Finley, Jamie Nichole and husband Jayson Harris, Jessica Susanne Bishop, Dorajane North, Sara Davis and husband Justin; five grandsons, Adam Paul McIntire, Jeffery Allen and wife Brittany McIntire, Mark Allen Jr. and wife Madeline Burns, Andrew Wesley Burns, Noah David and wife Trisha Kelley; 13 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews; one brother, Jack McIntire, Stonewood; one sister, Carol Blakeney of North Carolina. He is also survived by his dog, Buddy, and cat, Friskey.
Preceded in death by one son, Donald L. McIntire Jr.; two grandsons, Jacob Roy Burns, Matthew Dayton Burns; along with two brothers, Junior and James McIntire; and two sisters, Ida Ogden and Alene Corley.
Donald was a retired coal miner, U.S. Navy Veteran, loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing at Curtisville Lake. He was one of the original 95ers from Robinson Run Coal mines. He loved telling stories about his Navy travels and all the years working in the coal mines.
