Donna Joann Leggett, 90, of Clarksburg, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024. She was born on March 8, 1934, daughter of the late Benjamin Lawrence Keys and Lula Belle Wilcox. On December 9, 1950, she married Don Odell Leggett, who preceded her in death on November 28, 1985.

Surviving are two children: Donald Edward Leggett and Deanna Hoskinson and her husband, Terry. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Joyce Trimmer. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Daniel Leggett and his wife Laura; E. Robert Trimmer, II and his wife Carrie; Douglas Leggett; Richard Trimmer and his wife Arlene; Dawn Hensil and her husband Eric; Sara Zeigler and her husband Eric; Russell Leggett and his wife Kristina; Angelica Hoskinson; and Alexander Hoskinson and his wife Alana, along with 18 great- grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

Prior to losing her beloved husband, Donna was a homemaker, an accomplished seamstress, and an excellent cook, often affectionately referred to as “Sunday Dinner Grandma.” She took great joy in making dinner every Sunday for her large family. Eventually she became a waitress, stating that she had been waiting on her family for years and that she knew how to do it. She spent over thirty years working for the Shields family at their locations at Jewel City and Raymon’s Restaurant.

Donna joined a line dance group and thoroughly enjoyed it. Going to Nashville and dancing on live television at the Wild Horse Saloon was one of her fondest memories. However, there was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.

The family will receive friends at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 5-7pm, Thursday and from 10am till the time of the funeral service at 11am, Friday, April 19th. Her grandson, Danny Leggett, will officiate the service. Interment will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Clarksburg. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.perinefunerals.com. The Perine Funeral Home is honored to serve the Leggett family.
