Margaret Elaine “Lanie” Menendez, 67, of Spelter, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024 at the Crestview Manor Nursing Center in Jane Lew. She was born December 28, 1956 in Clarksburg, the only daughter of the late Leo “Steamy” Menedez Sr. and Margaret (Bryan) Menendez.
She is survived by her only son, Joshua Dillon; her brothers, Frank Menendez; and Donnie Menendez and his wife Mildred; as well as several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Lanie was preceded in death by her brothers, Leo, Fred, and Wayne Menendez.
As a coal miner, Lanie was employed by Consol Energy’s Robinson Run Mine at the Margaret Portal. She loved life and spending time with her friends. Those friends each held a special place in her heart and she would do anything she could for them.
Friends will be received at Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St. Shinnston, on Tuesday from 11:00am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00pm. Pastor Jimmy Glaspell will officiate the service.
