Canaan Valley Resort is a picturesque state park near Davis, WV that boasts a variety of activities year round.  They say they are located at the intersection of “relaxation and recreation”, which sounds like a perfect place for a weekend of girlfriend down-time!

When the movie “Girls Trip” was released last year, it reminded women everywhere about the benefits of relaxation, pampering, gossiping, and bonding.  Whether working on beach bodies or taking a much-needed break, Canaan Valley Resort is offering a Girls Getaway Weekend on April 12-14 that will give you and your friends the perfect excuse to get together.

For the fourth year in a row, Canaan Valley Resort will be hosting women for a special weekend that will include two night’s lodging, two days of breakfast, two days of yoga classes, a self-defense class, a fire arms safety class, and a Saturday evening Paint and Sip class, complete with wine.  Guests will also receive a free pass to the Beech Club, a pool and fitness center on site.

“We have hosted the Girlfriends Weekend for the last three years and those who have attended have had a blast,” said resort spokesperson Kelsey Jeffries.  “After a long winter, it gives women a getaway that helps them relax, walk our trails, enjoy their friends and get a little pampering.”

There is no limit to how many can attend the weekend getaway and no age limit to participants. Massages and facials at The Spa at Canaan can be scheduled for an additional charge.  While at the resort, friends can take in the many activities offered on the mountain.  From climbing walls to geocaching, mini-golf to sporting clays, there’s plenty of options for everyone.

For those who like to get back to nature, the resort is home to nearly 20 miles of trails, a scenic chairlift ride to the top of the mountain, biking rentals and more.  Rates for Friday and Saturday start at $229 each, with a reduced fee for those only staying Saturday night.  This event gives friends the perfect opportunity to retreat to the mountains and indulge in good food, wine, and memory making.
