Lincoln County Athletes Compete At State Track and Field Championships

Last weekend, Lincoln High School sent qualifying athletes to compete at the state track championship. For two days, they fought to bring home individual and team honors.

 On the first day, the boys 4×800 relay team of Gerald Purado, Isaac Coffman, Kaden Carder, and Sam Flint ran a 9:01.75, placing ninth overall. In the boys high jump, Aidan Rice scored 5-08, 5-10, and 6-00.

 On the second session of the first day, the girls 4×102.5 meter shuttle team of Olivia Hayes, Alesia Hayhurst, Karah Coffman, and Keely Stine ran for a time of 1:11.99, placing 7th overall. The boys 4×110 shuttle hurdle team of Patrick Kovach, Aidan Rice, Gerlad Parado, and Liam Gallagher placed fifth with a time of 1:02.04.

 The third Friday session saw Maddox Perine run for a 24.32 in the 300 meter dash, marking a time of 24.32. Later in the girls 400 meter race, Hannah Rowan placed third with a time of 1:01.83.

 Karah Coffman placed 15th overall in the girls 300 meter hurdle event with a time of 53.53 while Phoenix Gauldin in girls shot put tossed for a distance of 29-04.00.

 In the girls 100 meter hurdles, Keely Stine raced to a 6th place finish and a 16.84 time. The team of Brayden Edgell, Maddox Perine, Patrick Kovach, and Nicholas Keller ran for a 1:34.99 and a fifth place finish. In the boys 4×100, the same four placed seventh with a time of 46.07.

 As action on Saturday closed, the girls 4×400 relay squad of Hannah Rowan, Anna Hayhurst, Karah Coffman, and Alesia Hayhurst ran for a 4:34.29 time and an 11th place finish. The boys 4×400 team of Nicholas Keller, Gerald Parado, Patrick Kovach, and Brayden Edgell placed fifth with a time of 3:38.05
