Michael “Mikey” Edward Freeman II, 32, of Vandalia, Ohio, formerly of Clarksburg, passed away after having complications from cardiac arrest at Hendricks Hospital in Danville, Indiana.  He was brought back to his parents’ home and passed away with his family by his side.  Born in Clarksburg on October 8, 1991, Mikey was the son of Michael E. Freeman and Susan (Lyon) Freeman and the grandson of the late Bryan and Eileen Freeman and William and Nina Lyon.

Michael graduated from Robert C. Byrd High School and Fairmont State University.  He was an aeronautical mechanic for Stephens Aerospace and Defense Systems in Dayton, Ohio.  He enjoyed fishing, working on cars and reading books by James Patterson.  He was also known as a ‘dog whisperer.’

In addition to his parents, Mikey is survived by one sister, Madison Freeman and niece Maisie Parker, whom he spoiled, and his German shepherd, “Zander.”

He was a Christian by faith.  Honoring his wishes, he will be cremated.  A memorial service with family and friends will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to:

   WVU Medicine Hospice

   2673 Davisson Run Road

   Clarksburg, WV  26301

Also, his family would like to express a deep thank you to WVU Medicine Hospice and Hendrick’s medical staff for their kindness and caring nature during this difficult time.

Dorsey Funeral Home is honored to be handling the arrangements for the Freeman family.
