Following a year with no wrestling coach at Lincoln Middle School, middle school wrestlers have returned to the mat.

On Dec. 7, Lincoln Middle had their first Quad Meet, meaning four teams competed, at Washington Irving Middle School in Clarksburg. The team placed first, followed by Mountaineer Middle School.

On Dec. 9, they traveled to Elkins for a Tri-Meet. The team placed second. Elkins Middle School placed first, and Lewis County Middle School placed third.

That gave them a 4-1 record so far, having defeated three teams at the first meet and defeating one of three teams at the second.

The team is coached by Head Coach Cody Glaspell and Assistant Coach Clifford White.

Below are the following weight classes, wrestlers and their current record:

86 lb-Ryan Skinner, 5-0 with 2 pins

94 lb-Silas Raines, 3-2

102 lb-Jackson Riley, 2-1 with 2 pins

102 lb-Devlin Poster, 2-1

110 lb-Nick Glaspell, 5-0 with 2 pins

123 lb-Brayden McIntire, 4-1 with 1 pin

Lincoln Middle School is doing really good for its first year back! My personal faves are Hannah Westfall, Brayden McIntyre, and Jackson Riley. They are all awesome wrestlers though! Go LMS Wildcats!
