SHINNSTON COMMUNITY GARDEN MEETING

The Shinnston Community Garden will have an organizational meeting on Thursday, March 23rd at 5:30 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Shinnston.  Please call 304-218-9703 for more information.  Anyone interested in helping with the garden is invited to join us.

 

PARKINSON SUPPORT GROUP MEETING

The North Central WV Parkinson support group will hold its first meeting for 2017 on Saturday, March 25th, at the Eat-n-Park restaurant in Bridgeport.  This will be our annual luncheon to start the new year from 11:30 to 1:30.  There is no cost to join the group and anyone interested in more information can contact Tracey Robertson at 304-363-1028.

 

SPRING GOSPEL MEETING

The Shinnston Church of Christ will be having a Spring  Gospel Meeting featuring speaker Marcus Stenson, March 26-30 at 7:00 pm each evening.  On Sunday, March 26th the schedule is as follows:  AM Bible Class-9:30 am; AM Worship at 10:30 am and PM Worship at 6:00 PM.

 

SPRING USED BOOK SALE

Monday, March 27th thru Saturday, April 8th  there will be a used book sale at WV Heritage Crafts in the Historic Quiet Dell Grade School.  Hours are Mon-Sat 10am to 5 pm and Sunday 1 pm to 5 pm.  Donations of books (no encyclopedias), textbooks or magazines in good, clean condition are being accepted.  For more information call 304-622-3304 or 304-669-1295.

 

COUNCIL 872 MEETING FOUNDER’S DAY DINNER

The Knights of Columbus Council 872 will hold its Annual Founder’s Day Dinner on Monday, March 27th at 6:00 pm at the Robert Petitto Hall.  All members and their families are urged to attend.  Cost is $3 per person.  Please contact Doug White at 304-669-0631 to make reservations by March 20th or with any questions.

 

EASTER EGG SALE

CREATIVE PAINTING AND COOKIES TOO!

LENTEN SERVICE

Lenten Services will be held at first United Methodist Church in Shinnston at noon on Wednesday, March 29th  with Pastor Harry Holbert of Peora UMC charge presiding.  A love offering will be received to further the work of the Shinnston Area Council of Churches.  Those attending are invited to partake of fellowship and a soup luncheon following the service.  Reverend Cindy Boggs will hold Bible Study prior to the Lenten Service at 11 am in Epworth Center.

 

EASTER BREAD SALE

LOVE YOUR HEART DAY & HEALTH FAIR

The Genesis Salem Center, 255 Sunbridge Drive, Salem will be having a Love Your Heart Day & Health Fair on Wednesday, March 29th from 10 am – 2 pm.  The event is free and open to the public.  Refreshments will be provided.  Many fair activities and vendors will be available. DIVORCECARE SUPPORT GROUP

A 13 week DivorceCare support group is being offered at the First United Methodist Church in Shinnston.  Rev. Craig Blankenship will be the leader of the adult group and Rev. BEEKEEPERS SHORT COURSE

The WV Beekeepers Assoc. is having a beginner beekeeping course in Westover on April 1, 8, and 15. The cost is $50 per individual and $70 per couple. You must attend all three classes to complete the course.    This includes your instruction, the Penn State Beginner beekeeping class book and a 1 year membership with the WV state Beekeepers Assoc.
