Lenten Services will be held at first United Methodist Church in Shinnston at noon on Wednesday, March 15th with Father Thomas Dagle of St. Ann’s Catholic Church presiding. A love offering will be received to further the work of the Shinnston Area Council of Churches. Those attending are invited to partake of fellowship and a soup luncheon following the service. Reverend Cindy Boggs will hold Bible Study prior to the Lenten Service at 11 am in Epworth Center.
The Jones Run Independent Church (Jones Run Rd., Lumberport) will be having its monthly clothing giveaway on Saturday, March 11th from 8:30 am to noon.
HAM AND BEAN DINNER
Jones Run Farm Community Building (3602 Jones Run Rd) will be having a ham and bean dinner on Saturday, March 18th from 11 am to 5 pm. Meal includes big bowl of beans with ham, cornbread, coleslaw, dessert and drink. Eat in or take out. Adults $7, children 12 and under $5 and those under age 5 eat free. The Civilian Conservation Corps Museum Association will have their monthly meeting on Sunday, March 19th at the CCC Museum in Quiet Dell at 2 pm. The public is welcome to attend.
DIVORCECARE SUPPORT GROUP
A 13 week DivorceCare support group is being offered at the First United Methodist Church in Shinnston. Rev. Craig Blankenship will be the leader of the adult group and Rev. Cindy Boggs will be leading the DivorceCare Kids portion. The group meets every Tuesday at the church at 7 pm. Please call 304-592-0214 for more information.

STEP UP FOR WOMEN
Step Up for Women is actively interviewing for an 11-week construction training class. The program will prepare students for jobs in the skilled trades and union apprenticeship. The program is completely grant funded so there is absolutely no cost to students. Classes begin March 6, 2017. BEEKEEPERS SHORT COURSE
The WV Beekeepers Assoc. is having a beginner beekeeping course in Westover on April 1,8, and 15. The cost is $50 per individual and $70 per couple. You must attend all three classes to complete the course. This includes your instruction, the Penn State Beginner beekeeping class book and a 1 year membership with the WV state Beekeepers Assoc.
