Ronald K. Smith

Ronald K. Smith, 76, of Clarksburg, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at his home with his family by his side. He was born February 28, 1947 in Morgantown, a son of the late Verl Wilton and Grace Harshbarger Smith.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Janie M. Weekley Smith whom he married on December 14, 1969.

Ronald is also survived by his two sons, Douglas K. Smith and his wife Tina of Clarksburg; and Stephen B. Smith and his wife Kelli of Clarksburg; three grandchildren, Quinten, Emalee, and Breckston Smith; his sister, Linda Grace Smith of Clarksburg; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Wilson of Salem; and Elaine Childers of Clarksburg; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his brother, Verl “Junior” Smith and his wife Linda Kay; his brother-in-law, Patrick Weekley; and two nephews, Michael Verl Smith and Matthew Loren Knotts.

Ronald served our country in the U.S. Air Force. He was later employed at Benkins Vanlines, the WV National Cemetery, and West Fork Motors in Shinnston. He enjoyed his work as an automotive detailer at Bob Trickett GMC, Pontiac and Cadillac from which he retired. He also enjoyed watching Western shows and movies. Ronald was a member of The American Legion Post #31 in Shinnston.

In keeping with Ronald’s wishes, cremation services were provided by Perine Funeral Home, Shinnston. There will be no public services. Online memories and condolences can be shared at www.perinefunerals.com
