Following the lead of Master Trainer Mark Coffindaffer, many seniors enjoy practicing Tai Chi movements in the outdoor park setting.   This low impact workout is beneficial to seniors because it is slow-paced and not strenuous.  Although it is described as ‘calming’ and not strenuous, it still burns calories and is a wonderful form of exercise for those with muscular pain, fibromyalgia and arthritis.

On Thursday, April 27th, many Harrison County Seniors enjoyed a local trip, visiting the Deegan and Hinkle Lakes Park in Bridgeport.  It was a great day to enjoy some fellowship as well as the outdoors!

Some members of the group enjoyed fishing on the lakes’ banks while others took part in practicing Tai Chi in the relaxing park setting.  Prior to and following a picnic style lunch prepared and delivered to the site by the Kinley Cafe, some of the attendees took advantage of the Spring day to walk along the lakes and through the park, simply enjoying the fresh air.
