January 10-13 the West Virginia Clerks and Recorders Association hosted the Region 2 Conference of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks at Oglebay Park in Wheeling January 10th through 13th.

This was the first time West Virginia has been the host State for this annual conference in many years.

Attending the Conference were Municipal Clerks from Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia.   In attendance from the local area were: Andrea Kerr, Bridgeport City Clerk; Annette Wright, Clarksburg City Clerk; Janet Keller, Fairmont City Clerk; and Kathleen Panek, Shinnston City Clerk.

The International Institute of Municipal Clerks provides members with two certifications, earned through educational programs and involvement in a variety of professional development activities. These certifications are Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation and Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) designation.  Attendees earn points for continuing education and for their designation for each class attended during the Conference.
