This week’s installment of “Tee It Up” took us to the Raven Golf Course at Snowshoe Mountain. This golfer’s paradise is nestled in the scenic hills of Pocahontas County. Crafted by Gary Player, it opened in 1993.
This 18-hole, par 72 ranges 7,045 yards from the tips and offers multiple tee options to ensure a fun, yet challenging, round for golfers of all skill levels. Consistency is best used to describe the Raven Golf Club as year in and year out, it is considered one of the top courses in the state.
Dramatic elevation changes with some dropping up to 200 feet from tee to landing offer gorgeous views of the Allegheny Mountains. While most courses have a signature hole, the Raven owns 18 exceptional holes that bring something special and significant to each round.
From the tee to the green, this venue is in pristine condition and this isn’t by mistake or accident. It’s due to the tireless work of the staff that obviously takes great pride in their club. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, making them true difference-makers at the Raven.
Any and everything needed for a quiet day on the links can be had on site. The Raven grille provides breakfast, lunch, and an impressive 19th hole spot for drinks and a round recap. A fully stocked pro shop can accommodate all needs for your round. A driving range and putting green get you honed in and ready to go low and all that is left to do is to go out and make memories.
With stay and play packages available and plenty of activities on the mountain for families, you can turn this into a vacation for everyone. It also provides a break from the heat in the comfortable mountain air.
