GOLDEN ANGEL TREE

Harrison County Senior Center Golden Angel Tree Program provides gifts to senior citizens (age 60+) throughout Harrison County who may not receive any other gifts during the holiday season. Prior to the beginning of November 1 each year, caregivers and other in the community submit the names of seniors along with a list of 4 items on the senior’s wish list.

From that list of names and items, a Golden Angel Tree Angel is created with only an identifying number, gender, and the 4 items requested. Members of the community, clubs, satellites, etc., stop by the senior center and adopt one of the Angel’s to fulfill that senior’s wish list. We hope to have all the Golden Angels adopted by November 14, 2023, but feel free to call after this date to see if there are still Angels left on the tree. Presents for the Golden Angel are requested to be returned to the center by December 12, 2023. The presents need to be wrapped or in a large gift bag with the identifying number of the Golden Angel recipient.

Kendy Clutter, member of Marshville Senior Satellite, likes to shop for both a male and female Golden Angel and states: “I diligently get the practical items they request such as paper towels and laundry soap, but I always get them a surprise gift they would not expect so they know it’s Christmas.”

To adopt a Golden Angel or for more information about the program, please call the center at 304.623.6795.
