Jackson’s Mill Jubilee Pie

Contest, Saturday 4th
The Jackson’s Mill Jubilee will again be featuring the
PIE CONTEST in 2021. The Pie Contest is scheduled for
the afternoon of Saturday, September 4, 2021 in the EEC
Building at Jackson’s Mill. Contestants/pie makers may
enter the Jubilee grounds at the Historical gate and park
there. Once contestants arrive, a golf cart will be called to
transport them to the EEC Building. The pie maker will
receive free admission to the Jubilee and specific
directions to the contest location. Contestants may enter
pies ONLY between 2 and 3 pm. No pies will be
accepted before or after these times. If someone brings a
pie and leaves it before the specific time, that pie will not
be judged. There will be no sampling in 2021 due to
COVID precautions.
Ribbons and cash prizes will be awarded.
Contest rules are:
1. Pie fillings must have a West Virginia product
(fruit, nut, or vegetable) as the main ingredient.
2. Pie fillings must be made from fresh, home
preserved, or home frozen ingredients;
commercially canned pie fillings will NOT be
accepted.
3. Crusts must be home-prepared; frozen or other
commercially prepared crusts will NOT be
accepted.
4. Custard pies or pies containing an ingredient
requiring constant refrigeration will NOT be
accepted.
5. There will be three divisions:
a. Adult (18 and over) – Single Crust Pie
b. Adult (18 and over) – Double Crust Pie
c. Youth (under age 18) – Single or Double
Crust Pie

6. One copy of the recipe used (crust and filling)
must be submitted with each pie.
7. An individual may enter up to two pies in each
category
8. The decisions of the judges are FINAL.
The pie contest is sponsored by Jenny Garton Insurance
Agency, Inc. (State Farm Insurance in Weston) in
cooperation with the Jackson’s Mill Jubilee. The Jenny
Garton Insurance Agency will provide ribbons and cash
prizes for winners in each of the three divisions. For
