The Shinnston Sharks swim team is planning sign-ups for the month of May, according to a news release.
The Shinnston Pool has been the home of the Sharks summer swim team since the summer of 2017. The team is comprised of area kids who are able to independently swim across the pool and are 2022 high school graduates or younger.
Practice is held every weekday morning beginning with the first day of summer vacation for Harrison County students, and swim meets are generally scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday evenings. This summer’s coaching staff includes coaches Sonia McGrady and Rick Johnson from the Salem University swim team .
Volunteer Tonya Barnes said swimmers can attend as many practices and meets as they choose, as summer swim is designed to be fun and flexible.
The 2022 season ends with the championship meet for North Central West Virginia teams July 15 and 16.
